TIL that paper-faced corner bead isn't so bad after all

I used to swear by metal corner bead for every job, thinking it was tougher. But on a recent remodel with old, wavy walls, the paper-faced stuff fit better. Saved me a ton of fussing with shims.

Guess my old self would've been too stubborn to try it lol. Took me getting burned on a wonky wall job too before I switched it up.

Metal bead still wins for me because it won't get dinged up before the mud goes on. The extra bit of work to fit it right pays off with a tougher corner. Isn't a bent corner going to annoy you more than a little extra fitting time?

Putting in the extra time upfront to do something right always pays off later (like when I seal my deck properly instead of rushing it). You see this with cars too, where skipping regular oil changes leads to bigger engine trouble. It's that whole idea of investing a little more effort now to avoid headaches down the road. Makes sense why you'd pick the metal bead for a tougher corner.
