The day I stopped using a drywall saw like a caveman

Used to cut all my outlets and switch holes with a jab saw. Took forever and always looked rough. Then about 2 years ago a guy on a job site in Denver handed me a spiral bit for my router. Made a perfect cut in 8 seconds flat. Has anyone else made the switch from hand cutting to a router setup?

Oh MAN you just brought back some painful memories. I used to think I was SO slick with my jab saw, spending ten minutes per hole and still getting jagged edges that looked like a toddler cut them with safety scissors. Then a buddy let me try his router setup and I felt like the biggest fool on the planet for not switching sooner. Seriously, the first time I zipped through a cut in under ten seconds I wanted to find every outlet I'd ever done and apologize to them personally. It's one of those things where you look back and wonder how you ever lived without it, like microwaves or sweatpants with pockets.

@ruby561 couldn’t agree more, that first router cut felt like cheating after years of fighting with a jab saw. Makes you wonder how many hours we wasted hacking away at drywall when the answer was just a spiral bit and a steady hand.
