That time a ceiling seam popped in a brand new Phoenix build

We finished a whole house, the AC kicked on, and a 14-foot seam on the cathedral ceiling just opened up like a zipper. The builder had cranked the temp down to 60 before the mud was fully cured. I had to cut it out, re-tape, and re-mud the entire run in 110-degree heat. Anyone else had a client sabotage a fresh install like that?

Just waited for the mud to cure first.

fiona332's friend Mark only gave it two hours? thats insane. I waited like a full 24 hours for my last patch job and still got nervous. Two hours is asking for trouble, that mud was probably still wet to the touch. I can just imagine the bubbles and peeling, must have been a total nightmare to fix after that.

My buddy Mark tried to rush a drywall patch in his bathroom last year. He only gave it like two hours before painting, and the whole thing bubbled up. It looked awful. That patience thing @sage286 mentioned is key, you really do have to wait for it to fully cure.
