Showerthought: I always thought a 6-inch taping knife was just for small patches, but after finishing a whole ceiling with one last Tuesday, my shoulders thanked me.
The lighter tool meant less fatigue, so I could keep a steady hand and ended up with a smoother finish than my usual 12-inch blade gives me on overhead work.

Smaller tools are a game changer for overhead work.

Come on, it's just a tool. My old corded drill never stopped me from putting up a shelf. Feels like people make a big deal out of tiny weight differences these days. It's helpful, sure, but calling it a "game changer" is a bit much. It's still just a drill.

Man, I felt that in my bones. Used my big knife on a ceiling once and my arms were useless for two days. Switched to a smaller blade for the next room and it was like night and day. You don't realize how much that extra weight fights you until you go lighter. Makes the job less about pain and more about the work. Ever try a smaller knife on walls, or just overhead?
