Can we talk about the job site I walked into yesterday in Phoenix
I showed up to do a tape and float on a new build and the framing crew left gaps bigger than my fist between the studs. Like come on guys, I'm a drywaller not a magician (though some days it feels like I need to be). Had to shim and block for two hours before I could even hang a single sheet. Has anyone else dealt with framers who just don't care about the next guy?

Man, that's rough. @wadea53 is right, those guys act like shims grow on trees and we got time to burn. Best tip I got is to keep a couple of those cheap 2x4s in your truck for blocking cause you'll always end up needing them.

Man, I've been there so many times I should start charging framers for my therapy sessions. Your mileage may vary, but around here it feels like some of these guys think drywall just magically floats in the air. Take it from someone who's patched gaps with enough shims to build a birdhouse, you're not alone in that frustration.

Ask @wadea53, you think it's more about framers being in a hurry or just not knowing what us drywallers actually deal with?
