Bought a cheap auto-taper and it wrecked my whole afternoon
Tbh I thought I was saving a few hundred bucks by grabbing that no-name auto-taper off Facebook Marketplace in Phoenix. Got it home, loaded it up with mud, and the tape feeder jammed after maybe 10 feet. Spent the next hour fighting with it, pulling tape out of the rollers, and getting compound all over my boots. Finally gave up and went back to my old hand-taper which I should have just used from the start. Lesson learned I guess, you really do get what you pay for with these tools. Has anyone else had luck with a budget auto-taper or is it just me?

Man, I saw a YouTube review of one and it looked like a total headache.

Nah, I actually mess with it. Once you figure out the rhythm it flows pretty smooth.
