Tried to save a day by skipping the silt curtain setup on a lake job

We were working a small lake cleanup near Bellingham and the boss pushed us to skip putting out the full curtain to meet a tight deadline. Ended up with a $12,000 fine from the state for turbidity violations, which came straight out of our project bonus. Anyone else get burned by trying to cut a corner on containment?

Ugh, we once skimped on boom anchors.

Classic case of saving a dime to lose a dollar.

Sometimes cutting corners is the only way to get a project moving forward. A small risk now can prevent bigger delays and costs later. Calling every shortcut a mistake ignores real budget and time limits.
