Switched from chain pull to hydraulic drive on my dredge last season...

I used to run a chain pull setup on my old 12 inch dredge out of Baton Rouge. Every Monday morning I'd be cussing trying to get the chain tension right and dealing with snapped links from hidden debris. After one bad day where a broken chain took out my hydraulic pump housing, I said enough. I spent $2,800 converting to a full hydraulic drive system last March. The difference is night and day - no more constant adjustments, smoother digging in hard packed sand, and way less downtime. Took me about a week to get used to the new controls though. Has anyone else made a similar swap and found it worth the money?

Best money I ever spent on a dredge. No contest.

Tossed my old one after the third time it clogged in a week. @victorcoleman that's the same one I got last spring, been running smooth ever since.
