Wasted $300 on a cheap vinyl floor coating for my garage last spring
Peeled up like bad sunburn within 6 months after one winter of salt and snow melt. Anyone else had luck with epoxy flakes instead or is that just another expensive headache?

Had the exact same issue with the peel-and-stick stuff last year. Saved up and went with epoxy flakes instead. Did it myself over a long weekend, cost me about $400 for a two-car garage. Prep was a pain - had to grind the concrete and clean it really well with degreaser. But after a full winter with snow and salt, it's still holding up. No peeling, no bubbles. Just make sure you get a good moisture test kit first, that's where people screw up. The flakes hide dirt better too.

Glad it worked out but man that moisture test kit advice is key. I skipped that step once thinking I knew better and ended up with bubbles popping up everywhere after a month. Had to rip it all up and start over. You're right about the prep being the real bitch of it. But once you get that part right the epoxy flakes are definitely worth the extra money.
