Warning: that cheap harbor freight jack stand gave out on me last month

I was swapping wheels on my project car in the driveway, had it up on two jack stands from the bargain bin. One of them just folded sideways around 2pm on a Saturday, dropped the whole rear end on the concrete. Lucky I wasn't under it, just reaching for a socket. Now I'm debating between buying a name brand set or just sticking to ramps for everything. Anyone else have a close call with budget lifting gear?

Holy crap, folded sideways? That's terrifying man. I always thought those harbor freight ones were sketchy but that's next level. Glad you weren't under it.
