That 'just use epoxy' advice from my buddy wrecked my lift install

My friend Dave said to skip the anchors and just epoxy the posts into my concrete slab in Detroit, and now the whole setup wobbles on hard pulls. Anyone else had a garage project fail because you trusted someone's shortcut instead of the manual?

You said it xena_rivera63, but also Detroit winters mean freeze-thaw cycles that'll pop epoxy loose no matter how clean the concrete is. Did you check if your slab is deep enough for mechanical anchors in the first place?

Man, shortcuts like that get me every time. Epoxy has its place but not for something that takes a beating like a lift. Bet your buddy Dave meant well but probably never tested it under real weight. Your concrete might have been too smooth or dirty for the epoxy to grab properly anyway. At least now you know better than to skip the manual next time.
