Got a lift installed 8 months ago and my garage has completely transformed

I finally bit the bullet last February and put in a two post lift in my 22x24 garage. The before was a disaster of tool boxes and shelving crammed in every corner. Now I can actually walk around a car while it's up in the air, and all my storage is organized underneath. Has anyone else had a lift change how they work on projects or was it just me?

I kinda have to disagree with @evanr79 about it being a "novelty" thing. The part about it becoming a clothes rack or just a parking spot sounds like someone who bought a lift without really needing one, not someone who actually uses it for projects. If you're the type who's already in the garage every weekend doing brakes or suspension work, a lift isn't something you get bored of... it's a tool that makes your life easier every time you use it. I've had mine for a year and a half and I still find myself walking under it just to appreciate the extra space. The whole "walking around the posts" thing is a real complaint with two posts for sure, but you get used to it pretty quick once you realize you're not crawling on concrete anymore.

Eight months in and it's still life changing? Give it a couple more months when the novelty wears off and you're just using it as an expensive clothes rack. Tbh I had a buddy who dropped 4 grand on a four post lift and now he barely uses it because he's too lazy to walk around the posts every time. Ngl it's really not that serious unless you're rebuilding engines every weekend or something. Most people just end up parking under it and calling it a day.
