Finally caved on putting a lift in my garage after years of saying no

Saw a buddy's back after he finished a transmission swap on a creeper and realized I was being stubborn for no reason... how do you guys pick between a 2-post and a 4-post lift for a home setup?

I have a 2-post in my garage and honestly it's fine for most stuff, but my buddy regrets not getting a 4-post the first time he had to swap a whole drivetrain. Are you planning on doing a lot of transmission work or just the occasional oil change? Because that answer changes everything about which one you'll hate less later.

You ever lay under a car on a 2-post and realize your arms are too short to reach the bolts on the bellhousing? Because that's a real thing you'll find out real fast. I've got a buddy who swapped a transmission on a 2-post once and he swore he'd rather just pull the whole engine next time. It's fine for brakes and oil changes, but anything that involves wrestling something heavy out from under the car is a different story. I feel for your buddy, honestly. That kind of regret sticks with you.
