Can we talk about the $600 epoxy floor coating that peeled up in 8 months?

I dropped $600 on a DIY epoxy kit for my garage floor back in March. Followed every step, cleaned it twice, even rented a grinder. Now it's peeling up in huge chunks near where I park my truck. The heat from my tires must have cooked it loose or something. I'm pretty annoyed because I could have just saved up for a professional install for $1,200. Has anyone else had their DIY floor coating fail after a few months?

Aw man that sucks big time. I did a similar kit a couple years back and learned the hard way too - those hot tires are basically a heat gun on the epoxy. What finally worked for me was using a moisture barrier primer first and then going with a polyaspartic coating instead of regular epoxy. That stuff handles heat way better and my floor still looks good after 2 years. Also make sure your concrete is totally dry before you put anything down, that was my mistake the first time.
