Serious question, was I the only one drawing centerlines wrong for years?

Honestly, during my first year drafting mechanical parts I always put the centerline dead center of the hole. Then a senior drafter saw my drawing and told me the centerline should match the center of the thread, not the hole. That was a year ago and now I check every time before I set the line. Has anyone else dealt with this mix-up?

Same here. Took me way too long to figure that one out.

You mentioned it took you too long to figure that out. I actually see it the opposite way. I think people rush into decisions way too fast these days. Taking time to figure things out is a good thing in my book. It means you're being careful and not just jumping on the bandwagon with everyone else. I know it feels like you're behind sometimes but honestly slow and steady wins the race. There's way too much pressure to have everything figured out right away.
