Just hit 10,000 revisions on a single project file. It's a monster.

My old screenplay draft folder had 47 versions of the opening scene.

How do you even keep track of what changed? I used to believe saving every single version was the only safe way to work, but a mess like @ward.piper mentioned with 47 files would totally paralyze me now. Hitting that many revisions in one file actually makes more sense to me, because you can always look back at the history without sorting through a mountain of documents. It forces you to commit to changes instead of just making a new save out of fear. That single file becomes the whole story of the project, which is kind of cool even if it's a monster.

Wait, 47 files for one scene? That is a whole new level of chaos. I would never find anything. My brain just broke a little.
