swapped my brush pens for a 99 cent bic and im not mad
Used to think u needed fancy supplies to doodle anything decent. ran out of my tombow markers yesterday at the laundromat on 5th so i grabbed a random bic from the vending machine. honestly the sketch of the broken dryer came out way more raw and fun than anything ive done in a while. anyone else ever downgrade on purpose and get better results?

and honestly theres something about not caring if the pen bleeds or skips that frees you up. read somewhere that the best art comes from limitations, not tools. same reason people record demos on their phones and they sound better than studio versions. when you dont got money on the line you stop overthinking every line. glad the laundromat dryer could bring you back to earth. might try the same with ballpoints but i know i'll cheat and buy a nice one next week.
