My aunt swore by those $1 windshield wiper blades

She told me they work just as good as the expensive ones so I bought a pair for my car last month. First rainstorm they left huge streaks and one actually snapped off halfway through. Has anyone else had bad luck with auto parts from dollar stores?

And the rubber felt kinda stiff right out of the package. Like it was already dried out and cracked before it even touched my windshield. My buddy got some cheap blades at a dollar store too and they left this nasty screeching sound every time he used them. You're way better off just spending the extra ten bucks at an auto parts store.

Yeah but @bettykim I think you're being a little harsh on the dollar store ones. I grabbed a pair from there once and they actually worked fine for like two months before they started streaking. The key is to wipe the rubber with a damp cloth before you use them, gets rid of that factory dust or whatever lol. They're not gonna last as long as the good ones but for like $3 they'll get you through a rainy week.
