I bought a cheap paint sprayer for a room and it cost me more in the end

I was painting my living room last month and grabbed a $60 sprayer from a big box store to save time. It clogged every ten minutes and the finish was so uneven I had to roll over everything by hand anyway. I wasted a full day fixing it and about $30 in extra paint to cover the mess. Has anyone found a sprayer under $150 that actually works for walls?

What did you expect from a tool that costs less than a good pizza dinner? Those bargain sprayers are basically fancy squirt guns that hate paint. You didn't save time, you bought a full day of frustration and a lesson. I've been there, staring at a clogged nozzle while my back hurts from all the rolling I ended up doing anyway. Sometimes the old brush and roller method is the real shortcut.

Wasn't there a whole article about this in one of those home improvement magazines? They basically said the cheap sprayers have tiny motors and filters that can't handle anything thicker than water, so they're doomed from the start. It makes sense why they always clog, the pump just gives up. I tried thinning my paint way down once like the internet said, but then it just ran everywhere and needed three coats. Feels like you really do need to spend more to get a machine that can push the paint properly.

Ugh, been there. Those cheap ones are just expensive lessons in disguise. I gave up and just roll everything now.
