Honestly, I was about to buy a $200 tile saw for a bathroom floor

Tbh, I was talking to my neighbor, Frank, who used to do construction. He said, 'Lucas, for a 40 square foot floor, just rent one for the weekend. It'll cost you $40.' Ngl, that hit different because I always default to buying tools. I rented a Rigid from the local hardware store last Saturday and had the whole thing cut in an afternoon. Has anyone else had a project where renting was way smarter than buying?

My last rental was a floor sander for refinishing the hallway. It was about sixty bucks for the day and saved me from storing a huge, dusty machine I'd use once. What kind of tile did you end up using for the bathroom floor, and did the rental saw handle it okay without chipping?

Did you get the diamond blade with the saw or bring your own? I used porcelain tile and the rental blade was totally fine, no chips at all. How dusty was the floor sander to deal with?
