Stopped using tap water after a theater guy yelled at me

I used to just fill my fogger with tap water mixed with the juice. Then this dude from a haunted house crew in Portland told me I was ruining my machine with all those minerals. Switched to distilled water for my last 3 parties and the heater block hasn't gunked up once. Anyone else had a pro call them out on something basic like that?

Tbh that theater guy probably saved you more money than he cost in distilled water.

Noticed this pattern in so many areas of life. People look at the upfront cost of something like distilled water and get frustrated, but don't think about what happens when someone uses tap water in a CPAP machine and then needs a whole new machine six months later. Same thing with cheap tools at the hardware store. You buy a $10 screwdriver set and strip out the heads in a month. Spend $40 on a decent set and they last ten years. We always focus on the price tag but rarely factor in how much the cheap option costs us in stress and replacement time down the road.
