Wasted $40 on a cheap paint sprayer that clogged after 10 minutes

I was refinishing a old dresser from Goodwill last Saturday and thought a $40 sprayer from the hardware store would save time. Thing clogged up so bad after one drawer that I spent more time cleaning it than I would have painting with a brush. Stripped it down three times and still got sputter marks all over the top. Ended up tossing it in the trash and finishing the rest with a foam roller for $3. Has anyone else had luck with the cheap sprayers or is it just me?

Beat you to it, I threw mine out after one use (the sprayer, not the dresser).

Wait a second, I actually REALLY liked the sprayer on mine. It sprayed a nice even mist and I got way more use out of the bottle than I expected. I ended up keeping it to refill with my own mixture of water and a little vinegar for cleaning mirrors.
