Shoutout to vinegar and baking soda for clearing my stuck bathroom sink drain
I tried a $8 bottle of Drano and it didn't do squat, so I poured about a cup each of white vinegar and baking soda down there, waited 10 minutes, then flushed with hot water. The gunk came loose like magic and I saved that money for a new faucet handle I'm fixing next week. Anyone else have a weird cheap combo that actually works better than store stuff?

The "waited 10 minutes" part is key I think, I've seen people dump it and immediately flush and wonder why it didn't work. I had a similar win with cola and a toilet clog once, left it overnight and it broke down everything by morning.

That friend of mine tried the cola trick on a basement sink that was completely gummed up with hair and soap. Left it for a whole weekend, came back and it drained like new. Felt like magic. @hayes.tara you're right about the overnight soak making a difference, I think people just don't have the patience for it. I still prefer a good plunger for the toilet though, cola seems like a waste of a perfectly good soda.
