Unpopular opinion: braided fleece toys are way overrated

I traded for a braided fleece tug at the last swap meet in Denver and my dog shredded it in 12 minutes. Meanwhile the old denim rope toy I made from scrap jeans has lasted three months and still looks solid. Fleece just frays too fast for heavy chewers like my pit mix. Anyone else find that denim or canvas holds up way better than the cute fleece knots?

12 minutes" is basically a world record for how fast a toy can disappoint you. My dog treats fleece knots like they're personal enemies, and denim is the only thing that actually fights back. Maybe the cute braids are just for dogs who look at toys instead of eating them.

Oh gosh, that is so true! @martin.jamie's golden retriever was a whole mood. My sister's pittie shredded a Tuffy toy in like 5 minutes once, and I swear he was proud of himself. It's like they know the exact second the squeaker stops squeaking, then it's game over for the toy.
