Tried that braided rope pattern from the swap last month...
Ngl, I was skeptical at first but my pit mix absolutely destroyed the store-bought ones in under 20 minutes. This homemade braided rope with the fisherman's knot technique held up for 3 whole days before she finally snapped it. Anyone else have luck with that knot pattern?

Yeah finley_flores28 mentioned the chunks all over the porch and that's basically my life now too. It's funny how the stuff we think will last forever always falls apart faster than the stuff we're iffy about. In my experience, that's how it goes with a lot of things not just dog toys. I've had cheap walmart leashes hold up for years while a pricey one snapped on the first walk. The double knot trick definitely helps but sometimes you just gotta accept they're gonna destroy it eventually.

My buddy Mike tried that fisherman's knot on a rope for his golden retriever last month. He doubled up the knots and even added a third one right in the middle for extra grip. That dog still had it ripped apart in about 4 days, but he said the pattern held way longer than the regular overhand knots he used to do. The chunks ended up all over his living room carpet though, his wife was not thrilled.

Man I feel your pain on that. My lab mix goes through those store ropes like they're made of wet paper towels, fifteen minutes tops before she's got chunks all over the back porch. That fisherman's knot trick saved me a good bit of money though, I've been doubling up on the knots and it buys me an extra day or two. Your pit mix must be a real chewer if she snapped it in three days, that's actually impressive lol.
