Spent $45 on braided fleece for a tug toy and my Great Dane shredded it in 8 minutes flat.

I followed a youtube pattern from some lady who swore it was 'indestructible' but apparently she has a chihuahua, so has anyone else found a fabric that actually holds up to a big dog's jaws?

8 minutes is honestly impressive for a Great Dane, that dog probably looked at that braided fleece and said "hold my water bowl." I tried making my Rottweiler a tug toy out of old denim jeans once, doubled up the layers and everything, and she had it gaping open in about the same time. The only fabric that has survived more than a week at my house is that really thick canvas that they use for those military duffel bags. You have to get the heavy duty kind though, not the cheap stuff from craft stores. I also had some luck with old fire hose material, but that stuff is tough to sew through without breaking a needle. Honestly with a Great Dane you might just be better off buying him a car tire and calling it a day.

Wait, hold on. You made a tug toy out of old denim and layered it twice and it still lasted less than 8 minutes? That's wild. I've seen Rottweilers go through stuff fast but that's like record breaking destruction right there. Makes me wonder what kind of mutant superdog you've got over there, haha.
