Read a pattern online that said to use cotton yarn for dog toys and I call baloney

Someone in a Facebook group swore cotton was safer than fleece because it doesn't stretch, but my beagle chewed through a cotton knot toy in under 10 minutes and then ate half the stuffing. Has anyone else had fleece hold up way better than this fancy natural fiber trend?

Right? It's like how everyone suddenly decided microfiber cloths were garbage and only cotton rags work, meanwhile I've got cotton rags falling apart after one wash.

Feel you on this @brooke484. I bought a pack of those supposed "premium" cotton rags and they started fraying and falling apart after the first wash. Meanwhile I've got microfiber towels from five years ago that still work fine for cleaning up grease and oil at the shop. It's like nobody makes stuff to last anymore, just gotta buy whatever works for you and ignore the hype.
