Honestly, I think the whole 'no knots inside toys' rule is overblown

I overheard a lady at the Pet Expo in Phoenix last weekend saying knots make toys dangerous and should never be used. But my pit mix Charlie actually prefers a little resistance in his rope toys, and I've been sewing in reinforced knots for 3 years without a single issue. Ngl, if you test the knot strength and use proper stitching, it adds challenge for aggressive chewers. Anyone else find those blanket rules too strict for certain dogs?

You ever had one of those moments where you realize you were dead wrong about something? Because that's me with this. I used to be the guy saying knots are dangerous, full stop. But my neighbor's lab has this knotted rope toy that's lasted two years and the dog goes nuts for it. He showed me how he double knots and sews the ends with sail thread. Changed my whole view. Now I get it - the blanket rules are for people who don't test their gear. You know your dog. That matters.

Sail thread is a game changer @michaela16, that stuff holds forever.
