Realized my monitor was 3 inches too high after a year of neck pain
I got a new standing desk from Home Depot last year and just eyeballed the monitor height. Figured it looked fine. Been dealing with this nagging pain in my right shoulder blade for months. Saw a video on desk ergonomics from a Canadian chiropractor on YouTube. Turns out your eyes should line up with the top third of the screen. Measured it with a tape measure. My eye level was hitting dead center. That 3 inch difference has been messing me up this whole time. Anyone else find out their setup was killing them way later than they should have?

That thing about TV mounts being too high is probably true too. I've been in people's houses where the TV is basically touching the ceiling and you're craning your neck up the whole time. But here's my question though - when you finally fixed your monitor height, did the shoulder blade pain actually go away completely or just get better? Because I fixed my desk setup three months ago and the pain definitely improved but it didn't disappear like I was hoping. Now I'm wondering if that three inches just caused some permanent damage or if my body just needs more time to unlearn all that bad positioning. What's your experience been since you made the change?
