PSA: I was mounting my monitor arm way too low for 6 months
Last week I was adjusting my chair height and realized my eyes were hitting the top third of my monitor instead of the top edge. I had the arm clamped so the center of the screen sat at eye level like some guide said, but actually you want the top bezel at eye level for proper posture. My neck feels way looser now after moving it up 4 inches. Anyone else find out late that they had their monitor height totally backwards?

Two months into my first monitor arm I had the same realization. I was staring at my screen like a sad prairie dog trying to see down into the middle of it. My chiropractor actually asked if I'd been looking down at a laptop all day when I showed up with a knot in my upper back the size of a golf ball. Moving the top of the bezel up to eye level fixed it within a week. Feels dumb that we all just take ergonomics advice from the included manual that's probably translated wrong.

The "included manual" thing is spot on. But here's the thing nobody talks about - most desks are also way too tall for proper ergonomics even with a good arm. You end up craning your neck up or hunching your shoulders just to reach eye level with the monitor. If your desk height is fixed, you're basically fighting physics no matter what arm you buy.
