I saw a cheap UV resin kit on sale for $30 and thought I'd try making some desk coasters for myself. Big mistake. I didn't realize the resin would seep through my mold and drip all over my wooden desk. It ate right through the finish and left a nasty cloudy patch that I can't fix without sanding the whole thing down. Took 3 days to fully cure and the fumes were so strong I had to work from the couch. Has anyone found a reliable brand that won't melt your furniture?
A little sanding and a fresh coat of polyurethane would fix that right up, resin can be rough on wood but it's not the end of the world. Brands don't matter as much as a good silicone mold and some painter's tape underneath to catch drips.
