Swapped my old coffee mug pen holder for a tiny plant pot last month

I used to shove all my pens into a chipped mug from college, but after I stuck a little succulent in a 3 inch pot on my desk it looks way cleaner and I actually reach for my favorite pen now, anyone else ditch the mug for a planter?

My little succulent (it's a Haworthia, if you're curious) actually died after two weeks because I kept forgetting to water it before my night shifts. I swapped it out for a fake succulent from IKEA, cost like $3, and it still looks great six months later with zero maintenance. The real plant was too stressful for me, honestly.

Wait, TWO WEEKS? You killed a Haworthia in TWO WEEKS? I thought those things were basically indestructible, like they thrive on pure neglect. I've heard of people forgetting theirs for a month and they're fine. That's honestly kind of impressive in a tragic way, like you unlocked a new level of plant murder. But hey, the $3 fake succulent sounds like a GENIUS move though, you basically outsmarted the whole system. Sometimes you gotta know when to tap out and I respect that.
