Shoutout to my $8 hot glue gun vs a $30 pen holder kit
Bought a cheap hot glue gun from Michael's for 8 bucks to make a custom pen holder from popsicle sticks and cardboard. My friend spent 30 on a fancy bamboo pen organizer kit online and it fell apart after 2 months cause the glue dried out. Now I'm debating if the better looking stuff is worth the cash or if DIY with basic tools is the real way. Anyone else find cheap supplies actually outlast the expensive desk stuff?

Honestly you're making me question my own setup because I have this nice metal desk organizer that cost 40 bucks and its starting to rust where the coating chipped. But my kid made me a pencil cup out of a pringles can and duct tape and that thing has been holding up for over a year now. So what's the actual difference between paying for design versus paying for function when the cheap stuff might last longer? Is it just about looks or is there something else people are really buying into?

Tbh you're kinda buying into the idea that expensive means quality, but that Pringles can proves it doesn't always work that way.
