...and then I spent twenty minutes trying to untangle a single zip tie from a power strip I was swapping out. Ended up cutting the thing and nicking a cord in the process. Now I just use old twist ties from bread bags, which sounds ridiculous but they're soft enough to not scratch anything and you can just twist and untwist them a hundred times. My setup looks like a garbage explosion, but hey, at least I can swap a monitor cable without cursing out my own handiwork

Used to think zip ties were the only way to go, but some velcro straps from an old toolbox totally changed my mind. They're way easier to undo when you need to swap a cable.

Sixty seven zip ties. That's how many I found behind my TV stand last time I moved. I had to cut every single one because I used the cheap ones that cinch down like a python. The worst part was I cut through a HDMI cable on accident and had to explain to my wife why the Roku suddenly stopped working. Now I just use those reusable velcro strips you can get at Harbor Freight for like two bucks. They don't look pretty but at least I can swap cables without needing wire cutters and a prayer.
