Noticed my desk felt cluttered for years until I switched to a single magnetic strip for my tools three weeks ago
I hung a cheap magnetic strip from the hardware store on the side of my monitor stand and suddenly my pens, scissors, and even a tiny level all have a home without taking up any surface space has anyone else tried something like this?

Ngl, my roommate did this with his kitchen knives and now I can't find the butter knife anywhere because it's stuck to the side of the microwave.

Wait, the butter knife is stuck to the side of the microwave? That is wild to me, @the_jana. I mean, I get the magnetic strip idea for tools and stuff, but for knives? That feels like a disaster waiting to happen when you're trying to grab a snack at 2 AM. My strip is only holding a pair of scissors and a box cutter, so I don't have to worry about that kind of chaos. But now I'm paranoid about my tiny level falling off if I bump the desk too hard.
