LED strips vs. natural light: I picked a desk lamp and got roasted by coworkers

Everyone in my office keeps raving about these RGB LED strips they stick under their monitors, saying it makes the desk look "aesthetic." I went the opposite direction and bought a vintage banker's lamp for 30 bucks at a thrift store. It takes up more space and the light is warm yellow instead of cool blue, but honestly my eyes don't feel fried after 8 hours of looking at charts. Plus, I was able to wire a tiny fake cactus right into the base as a pen holder. Has anyone else gone old school with your desk lighting and regretted it or loved it more than the trendy options?

Oh man, hold up real quick. Just a small thing about the cool blue light - that stuff actually messes with your sleep cycle way more than warm yellow. So you're onto something with that banker's lamp, even if the office crowd is clowning you. I had a similar setup for a while, an old school green glass lamp I found at a salvage place. Thing weighed a ton but my eyes thanked me at the end of the day.
