A coworker's weird pencil cup gave me an idea for my desk setup

I was over at Steve's cubicle last Tuesday and he had this real ugly coffee can wrapped in twine holding his pens. It looked so bad it made me dig out an old piece of fence picket from my truck to make my own wood-block holder, and honestly it's way sturdier than anything I bought.

That twine-wrapped can sounds like a splinter risk waiting to happen.

yeah honestly I was all for it until I actually made one and yeah splinters everywhere
