Question about using a milk frother for cheap coffee...

I finally gave in and bought a $15 handheld milk frother from Target last week. My usual routine is just adding a splash of milk to my Folgers, but I tried frothing it this morning and wow... it actually made it taste way less bitter. I think the foam is covering up some of the harsh flavor somehow. Has anyone else noticed this trick works with really basic coffee?

Yeah I did the exact same thing with my store brand coffee. The foam really does mask that burnt bitter taste somehow. Its a solid cheap hack.

Yeah @james92 nailed it, the foam just covers up the bitter.
