Frozen coffee cubes or just more milk? Which side are you on?
Last week I tried frozen coffee cubes from a batch of leftover drip I had, and while it didn't water down my iced coffee, the flavor got kinda muted after they melted. Has anyone else noticed that, or am I just using cheap beans from the grocery store?
Two summers ago I kept a little notebook on my coffee experiments, and the frozen cube thing worked way better with cold brew than drip for keeping flavor strong. In my experience, a lot of these little kitchen hacks solve one problem but create another, like how reusable straws clean great but always leave a faint soap taste in my water. Your mileage may vary, but I'd try using a darker roast or a little more grounds in your brew before you cube it, seems to help that muted flavor.
Doesn't this kind of thing happen with SO many little shortcuts though, like you fix one thing and then something else gets a little worse? It's like meal prepping on Sunday saves time all week but then your veggies get soggy by Wednesday no matter what you do.
