That week my backyard pond turned into a mosquito farm

I thought I was being smart building a little pond in the corner of my yard. Filled it with some water plants and a tiny pump from Lowe's. Looked good for about 3 days. Then I left town for a work trip and my pump died on day 2. Came back to a green slime pit with THOUSANDS of mosquito larvae swimming around. My neighbor actually knocked on my fence to ask if I was breeding bugs back there. Took me a whole Saturday to drain it, scrub it, and get a decent pump that won't quit on me. Anyone else have a water feature turn into a nightmare when the pump gave out?

Lean into that cursed pond life, huh? I bet you came back expecting a peaceful little nature scene and got straight up Jurassic Park mosquito edition instead. Honestly, your neighbor asking if you were breeding bugs is the funniest part to me, like "yeah Jerry, I'm running a whole mosquito farm back here, want a sample?" I remember my buddy's little fountain did the same thing and we found out the hard way that a dead pump is basically an open invitation for every bug in a mile radius to throw a pool party. You basically created a tiny green swamp while you were gone on business.
