Spent $12 on a silicone dish mat and it completely changed my rinse game
I used to always get water all over the counter when I'd rinse plates before loading the dishwasher. Drove me nuts. Picked up this cheap silicone mat at Target that catches all the drips and now I can rinse without worrying about a puddle. Anyone else use something simple that made a big difference?
Sarah makes a good point about silicone and bacteria. The same thing happens with silicone kitchen spatulas if you leave them in a damp dish rack overnight. For haircare tools, I found that squeezing the excess water out after rinsing and then leaving the whole thing to air dry on a towel really helps. Also swapping between two brushes or tools so one has time to fully dry before you use it again. That extra step makes a big difference in keeping everything clean and safe to use.
