My mother in law caught me scraping plates at her sink last Sunday

She yanked the sponge right out of my hand and said I was wasting water for no reason. Told me the dishwasher has a grind up thing inside that handles it all if you just load it right. I guess I have been doing it wrong for 10 years, but now I am left wondering how much food is too much?

My neighbor just told me last week that I've been loading the silverware wrong for 15 years, it's like everyone has these secret kitchen rules nobody tells you about. I mean it makes you wonder what other simple stuff we are all doing wrong every day without even knowing it.

@susan_ward that silverware thing threw me off too when I found out. It's wild how much random stuff we just pick up wrong with no one bothering to say anything.
