Tried making that 30 minute creamy tomato soup recipe

Between burning the garlic and realizing I had no immersion blender, it took me over an hour and a half to finish - anyone else have a simple recipe that fought back way harder than it should have?

Two times I tried making "quick" arroz con pollo and spent like 3 hours because the rice kept sticking to the bottom of the pot. Ended up just eating the top half and scraping the rest into the trash.

Honestly, "quick" arroz con pollo is such a lie. I've been there with the scraping and the sad top half dinner, feels bad man. That burnt rice smell just takes over the whole kitchen and ruins your appetite. Ngl, I think it's a rite of passage for anyone who attempts it.

Gasp at the 3 hours part. That's brutal, man. I've never had it take that long but I've definitely done the scraping thing (you know, where you're just trying to save what's left and it's mostly just sad, sticky rice). The fact you actually threw the bottom half in the trash though, that's dedication to admitting defeat. I think I would've just eaten it anyway out of stubbornness, burnt bits included. That smell really does ruin your appetite though, it's like the kitchen just gives up on you.
