Serious question, is meal prep actually better than just cooking quick?
I spent last month trying out two different approaches to dinner. First I did full meal prep on Sundays. Made 5 days worth of chicken and rice bowls with roasted veggies. It took me like 3 hours and I was so tired by the end. Then I tried just cooking simple stuff night by night. Things like eggs and toast with avocado, 15 minute stir fry with frozen veggies, or a can of beans heated up with some seasoning. Honestly the second way worked way better for me. The meal prep food got boring by Wednesday and I ended up throwing some away. With the quick cooking I used whatever I had in the fridge and felt less stressed. Has anyone else noticed prepping everything ahead just leads to more waste?

That "got boring by Wednesday" part hit me hard. I did the same thing with a big batch of chili once, and by day four I couldn't look at it anymore. Now I just prep a few ingredients like cooked chicken or chopped veggies, then mix them up fresh each night, and I waste way less food.

@mason798 Is it really that big a deal though? Just eat the chili.
