My drawing tablet driver crashed mid-stream and I lost 4 hours of work

Was live on Twitch painting a portrait and boom, driver died, tablet went dead. Had to restart everything but the file was corrupted. Anyone else just rawdog save files or do you backup every 20 minutes?

Yeah, that's on you" is a little harsh but I get what they're saying... I used to never save anything until I dropped my laptop down a flight of stairs and it corrupted a whole week's worth of notes for a side project. Now I save every time I stand up to get coffee or water, just a habit now.

4 hours of work corrupted" honestly that's on you man. Not trying to be harsh but you should know better. Auto-save or manual save every 15-20 minutes is the bare minimum for digital art. Rawdogging files is asking for trouble. Your tablet driver can crash any time, computer can blue screen, power can go out. That's not bad luck, that's you not being careful. Set a timer if you have to. I lost a 6 hour commission once and never made that mistake again. You gotta protect your work or it's your fault when it's gone.
