I tried a $30 drawing tablet for a month then switched to a Wacom Intuos and the difference in line control was huge.

Remember how a cheap ballpoint pen skips on rough paper? That cheap tablet felt like that all the time, just fighting me. The Intuos tip feels like it's actually part of the surface, so the line goes exactly where my hand does. @jana_henderson52, the pressure isn't just about thick and thin lines, it's about the pen feeling alive in your hand instead of a plastic stick sliding on glass. It's the difference between drawing with a tool and having your hand just connected to the line. That control change made me actually want to practice again.

What was the biggest difference you noticed in the pen pressure on the Intuos?

Oh my god, @jana_henderson52, my friend's lines just...stopped shaking.
