Got told my digital paintings were 'too flat' - fixed it with one brush setting
An artist I follow on Instagram said I should try using a textured brush in Procreate instead of the default round one. I thought she was just being picky about style. But I tested it on a portrait last weekend and the depth difference was huge. Now I can't go back to smooth brushes for skin tones. Has anyone else had a simple tool change completely shift their work?

Gotta disagree a bit here. Smooth brushes have their place if you layer them right with some opacity jitter.

@james533 yeah I heard a pro painter say the same thing once in a tutorial. Layering with lower opacity really does change how smooth brushes behave.
