Dropped $60 on a digital art brush pack that looked nothing like the previews

The samples showed textured oil paint strokes but the actual brushes were just blurry smudges that didn't layer right at all. Has anyone else had luck with those premium brush bundles on Gumroad or is it all just marketing?

Bought a $50 brush pack from "MintyBrushes" last year that was exactly the same scammy crap. Ended up downloading free Kyle Webster brushes that worked way better. Stick to individual artists who show actual timelapses of their workflow with the brushes.

is it really that big of a deal though @margaret_flores17? like yeah paying 50 bucks for some brushes that turn out to be trash sucks but its not the end of the world. ive bought worse stuff online and just moved on. not saying MintyBrushes is legit or anything but some of these brush packs are decent if you do your homework first. free stuff like Kyle Webster's is great but not everyone has time to dig through all that.
