Brushes changed my whole workflow last month

I used to rely on default hard round brushes for everything, even shading. Switched to Kyle's textured brush pack on a whim and my portraits look way less plastic now. Anyone else find a brush set that just clicked with their style?

I went all in on Kyle's brushes a few years ago and actually ended up going back to simple round brushes for most things. The heavy texture can get distracting and it forces a certain mood onto every piece. Sometimes you just want clean, deliberate strokes without the brush doing the work for you. Different artists need different tools though so no hate if it clicks for you.

Ugh, that's exactly what I've been wondering about. Does the heavy texture just become a crutch after a while, like you're not really learning how to paint without it?
