A shift I saw at the local art center's digital gallery last week
Last week at the Riverfront Art Center, I noticed almost every piece in their new digital show used some form of AI texture generation. A month ago, it was maybe half the submissions. It made me think back to three years ago when the same show was all about clean vector art and photo manipulation. Has anyone else seen this quick change in what gets featured?

Is it that big of a deal though? Textures are just one part of a piece. I saw that show too, and honestly a lot of the AI stuff looked kinda samey and flat. It's just the current trend, like how everyone was doing glitch art a while back. It'll probably change again in another year.

Noticed the same flat look in a lot of online ads lately, like everything's made from the same shiny plastic. It feels like we're losing the little messy details that make things feel real, you know? Even product photos all have that same smooth, weirdly perfect texture now.
